There are powerful positive forces in the world right now striving towards Regenerative Intentional Living... where the priority is on supporting and rebuilding the natural ecologies of the planet while at the same time individuals' personal growth and the quality of their relationships. Examples of this would be new permaculture building technologies, regenerative farming practices, and the growing network of co-housing developments, Eco-Villages, and other Intentional Communities worldwide.
On the other side of the spectrum, we find society's "outliers"... historically underserved people, many facing desperate circumstances, with one glaring example being young people "aging out" of America's social welfare system… where 20% find themselves instantly homeless and 1 in 4 are incarcerated within 2 years, and more horrific statistics tracking such things as mental health, substance abuse, and sexual exploitation.
As one might expect, there is a disproportionately high percentage of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) in this at-risk group. Interestingly, younger people from these diverse backgrounds are desperately needed at this time in the aforementioned sustainability movement, which is currently overwhelmingly White, middle-class-and-above, and on an aging incline.
Imagine how much innovative, idealistic, creative, and under-recognized talent could be channeled into transformed and fulfilling lives that contribute to humanity’s well-being and future… when exposure, support, and expansive options are made available!
